Small grants have a value between £1,000 and £9,999. For the period April 2025 – March 2026, the Charity approved 56 small grants totalling £211,420.
Outdoor seating for Mayfield Ward
Prior to the award of a Small Grant, the garden area of Mayfield Ward in Lynebank Hospital was somewhat unloved and underused.
New garden seating however, purchased with the help of Fife Health Charity has completely changed the space.
EMDR Training for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and is a specialist evidence-based trauma-focused therapy.
Sadly, NHS Fife's Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Team see children who have experienced single event or developmental trauma. For such children, there is a therapy option known as EMDR.
Fife Health Charity were pleased to be able to support a small grant application to allow 7 CAMHS staff to complete their specialist EMDR child training. The staff attending this training work across core CAMHs, Intensive Treatment Service and Specialist CAMHs services, providing intervention for young people and children who present with significant mental health difficulties.
This training will enable staff to feel more confident in applying this therapy with younger children and those who present with more complex needs.

Leslie and Glenrothes District Nursing Team receives syringe driver
The Leslie District Nursing Team received a donation from a local charity to support the purchase of a second syringe driver realising significant benefit to patients requiring end of life care.
Being able to deliver more timely care to patients by having access to more than one syringe driver has allowed us as a team to commence a syringe driver without hesitation. This has allowed us to deliver better care and patient outcomes have improved due to being able to respond and manage symptoms at end of life quicker.
Cancer education webinar platform year-long subscription
The provision of a one-year subscription to cancer education live and recorded webinars by cancer academic David O’ Halloran was granted by Fife Health Charity between (September 2024 – August 2025) by virtue of meeting two key outcomes outlined in the grant application; these were improved patient experience and to increase staff knowledge and skills for the benefit of patients.
A small grant of £2,500 gave staff access to learning over the time period and a total of 90 staff registered for 335 courses.
Key outcomes were improved patient experience, increased staff knowledge and the development of a culture of excellence in cancer care at NHS Fife.
