Watching their baby's ultrasound from a parent’s perspective is generally an emotional, reassuring and highly longed for experience that at once helps make the pregnancy feel real and the baby take on its personality-to-be. The experience often strengthens the parent-baby bond.
A small grant from the Charity has helped to provide a reliable and professional viewing system in 3 obstetric ultrasound rooms. Pregnancy ultrasounds can be viewed on a high-quality screen in the Fetal Medicine team office in live time as the scan is performed by the sonographer in the other room with the mother-to-be. This allows the team to support and view scans in real time alongside education of clinical staff and students, without encroaching on the patient’s own experience.
This viewing system is professional and high quality which enhances our service and patient journey.
