Memory boxes for ICU in support of bereaved families
Memory boxes for ICU in support of bereaved families
The Intensive Care Unit at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy continutes to offer memory boxes to support bereaved families after both areas were in receipt of micro grants.
ICU memory boxes are compassionate tools designed to support bereaved families by providing a lasting, physical keepsake of their loved ones. These boxes serve as a tangible way to hold onto memories, offering solace to families during the grieving process. Among the contents of the memory boxes are a candle which can be lit in memory of their loved one and a packet of seed which can be planted to remember a loved one.
Fife Health Charity is delighted to have received feedback from family members who’ve shared that they appreciate this gesture and have used the memory boxes to store additional mementos such as jewellery and photos.
Providing these memory boxes allows us to emotionally support family during the process of losing their family member.
